It is still far better than most video games out there, but this season will likely be remembered less fondly than the first two seasons of The Walking Dead. On the whole though the drama this season wasn’t quite as pulse pounding or endearing as what we’ve seen before. Telltale did a good job of making the characters all fairly relatable, and the comic cameo for Jesus certainly brought things to another level. Whether or not that’s a good thing comes down to how attached you became to Javi and the drama that surrounded him. While the first two had moments where the plot meandered, or took an odd turn, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier has remained steadfast in its story. These flashbacks, and the way the whole story has come together, seems to show a larger amount of planning went into this season than the previous ones. We once again see how Javi’s family life was before the zombie apocalypse, setting the stage for the family drama that follows. Starting off with another flashback, TWD: A New Frontier Episode 5 doubles down on the focus it has placed on Javi and his family. Javi and his group will fight to stay alive, but also try to work out some of their internal struggles. Things have gone way wrong, and practically none of their plans worked as expected. Javi and his family are stuck within the walls of Richmond, fighting for their survival while dealing with the politics of the area. The Walking Dead: A New Frontier – Episode 5 “From the Gallows” jumps right into the action, picking up on the cliffhanger from the previous episode. Does it stick the landing and cement The Walking Dead: A New Frontier as another fantastic entry in the series, or was this a misstep for Telltale? So far, through four episodes we’ve grown attached to Javi and his group, and now the finale puts the finishing touches on the season.

Instead they took the narrative in a whole new direction, still featuring series star Clementine, but moving the focus to a new character and his family. With the first two becoming smash hits, it was expected that the developer would follow them up with a similar entry. Maybe Clem will end it by coming out as a lesbian or telling him to back off.The Walking Dead: A New Frontier has been quite the surprising season for Telltale’s marquee franchise. Also, Gabe is clearly interested in her, so let’s see if the young romance will blossom. “Thicker Than Water” also made it clear that Clementine was growing up (making sure to have a couple of scenes revolving around her menstrual cycle). If you think I’m talking too much about the romantic sub-plot, you’re right, because there was a lot of it in this episode. Zombie apocalypse or not, romancing your brother’s wife while he’s still alive is a mess I don’t want any part of. Even if she has problems with David there’s no way I was going to come between her and David. I kept Javi away from Jane as much as possible. How did those two fall in love in the first place? Making David look like someone who wanted to run away from his responsibilities felt like lazy writing, a way to make fans feel okay if they decide to romance Jane. However, I still don’t know why David asked her to marry him and why Jane said yes. I’ve been wondering about David and Jane’s marriage and it turns out they had been fighting for a long time. The first was about Javi and David before the zombie-apocalypse. “Thicker Than Water” had three flashbacks. She was a vile character, thinking that she had the right to kill others with consequence, so of course, I went against her every time I could. There were options to negotiate with Joan but I didn’t use any of them. “Thicker Than Water” picked up from where the third episode ended and we saw Javi and David being held prisoner. “ Above The Law” made it obvious that something was terribly wrong in Richmond and knowing that Joan was behind it didn’t come as a surprise. I have to admit that Joan doesn’t come across as a memorable villain in A New Frontier. The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series “A New Frontier” Episode 4 “Thicker Than Water” was about the bonds between the characters and if family and loyal friends were equal.
